Tienda Sabores de Portugal

We spent the evening in the Tienda Sabores de Portugal. This type of establishment is typically known as an "abaceria", a mix of a small shop and a bar. In Sabores de Portugal one can shop for specialty food items, or sit and enjoy typical tapas, wines and beer from Portugal.

"Sabores de Portugal" is located at the beginning of calle Feria on the right when coming from the center.

The owners are Alfonso, originally from Brazil but living in Portugal for years, and his Portuguese wife. Both are behind the bar working hard to keep up with the crowd tonight.

We have ordered aliño de tomate, bacalao, and cheese. The beer is Sagres, a Portuguese brand, and only available in bottles. But it is cheaper than in most other bars...

The presentation of the products is in shelves which have been hand made from wine barrels by one of the partners. His job also includes weekly drives from Portugal to bring in new products.

In this corner of the shop you can buy Portuguese wine and conserves.

Fresh products, such as cheese and cured meats, are on display in the
refrigerated case. Matias has already given his approval of several different types of cheeses.
