The Hotel Casas de Santa Cruz is located on a typical pedestrian street in the Santa Cruz quarter, between the Plaza de los Venerables, the Plaza de Doña Elvira and the Reales Alcázares. The 7 room family run hotel includes a typical Andalusian patio and small roof top terrace with views of the Cathedral. The hotel offers a continental breakfast in the family's restaurant next door to the hotel. Free high speed internet access is available via the hotel's WiFi connection. The building is a traditional Sevillian residence which has been completely renovated. The renovations have preserved the marble floors and original ceramic tiles throughout the house, as well as the wood beam ceilings. Careful consideration and planning have blended the typical, historic elements of the house with modern comforts. This is most apparent in the guest rooms, which feature a modern decoration including comfortable wood floors, new bathrooms and LCD televisions.

We are fond of many different things when it comes to the hotel. First is our appreciation for the renovations and excellent job in blending the historic elements of the architecture with modern comforts. An excellent but small example is the fountain in the central patio which uses tiles of different designs from several parts of the house. The choice of light wood floors in the guest rooms over marble is another detail which emphasizes comfort over tradition. We always like it when breakfast is included in the price of the room, and the setting, in a typical Andalusian house next door in Restaurante Santa Cruz, provides a wonderful backdrop to begin the morning. The size of the hotel is perfect at just seven rooms. The location is also ideal, within the very heart of the pedestrian only section of Santa Cruz and close to all of the major monuments in the city. And this location has it's advantages at night: the hotel is very quiet. Finally, we saw the special attention paid to all of the details when we visited just before opening. The family owns and operates several restaurants and tourist apartments in this neighborhood and this experience is a true benefit for their customers. |
