The Hotel Alminar is located on a quiet pedestrian street just two blocks from the Cathedral, adjacent to the Santa Cruz quarter and shopping district
in the the centre of Seville. The Plaza Nueva, Plaza San Francisco and
Plaza Salvador are close by, leading to the main shopping streets of Sierpes and
Tetuan. The 12 room hotel occupies a traditional and completely renovated 17th century building. With the small number of rooms, the hotel is able to offer a warm and very personalized service for every guest. In keeping with the philosophy of excellent service, the hotel has a daily breakfast service, free high-speed WiFi internet access as well as a free "Coffee Corner", with hot and cold drinks for guests. The building was once owned by the Foronda family, famous for their handmade silk shawls, scarves and other typical Andalusian artisan crafts. The location is on the former "mercaderes" street which for many centuries served as the heart of the central merchant district. Guests enter the main reception from this same street, now called Álvarez Quintero. Just behind reception is the breakfast room and guest lounge with television. Adjacent is a small sitting room with additional chairs and tables. The elevator and stairs lead to the majority of the guest rooms.

Guest rooms in the Hotel Alminar are distributed over three floors, with the two superior rooms located on the roof terrace. In contrast to the historic architecture of the building, the furnishings are modern, creating a stylish and comfortable atmosphere. All rooms in the hotel have at least two exterior windows. Some rooms include two or three balconies to the pedestrian streets around the hotel.

The central common areas in the Hotel Alminar are just off the reception desk which faces Álvarez Quintero street. Guests will find the breakfast room and lounge with television in the central patio. This same area serves as the free Coffee Corner including a choice of coffee, a selection of teas and cold drinks. Adjacent is a small sitting room with a window onto the pedestrian street.

Hotel Alminar is located two blocks from the Cathedral, with excellent access to the major monuments and shopping district, as well many of the principal plazas of the city center. Guests are also just a few blocks away from Seville's new tram line, connecting the Plaza Nueva with the Old Tobacco Factory (University of Seville) the Prado de San Sebastian (gardens and regional bus station) and the adjacent Parque Maria Luisa. First and foremost is the excellent staff who always have time to help guests with whatever need they may have, whether it be services in the hotel, advice about the city, places to visit or restaurant and tapas recommendations. We particularly enjoy the style of the hotel, blending modern, comfortable furnishings and charming decoration with the architecture of an historic building. The location provides several advantages. Proximity to the Cathedral, Santa Cruz and central shopping district means a short walk no matter what your destination may be. Situated on the corner of two pedestrian streets, the location also permits the luxury of exterior windows for almost every guest room without the noise of the city center. Finally, just a few paces away guests will find two of our favorite Robles locations: Restaurante Robles and Robles Tapas, which we can highly recommend from our personal visits. And we of course can't resist the rooms with a private terrace or the free WiFi internet connection and Coffee Corner. |
